Journey Week 4

In this section, the Invisible Man has now been with the brotherhood for sometime.  He is earning respect within his community and people are being to know his name. After his speech and the brotherhood's fight with Ras, the narrator thinks, "I almost laughed into the phone when I heard the director of Men's House address me with profound respect. My new name was getting around. It's very strange, I thought,  but things are so unreal for them normally that they believe that to call a thing by name is to make it so. And yet I am what they think I am...(379)" Though the Invisible Man now believes he is finding an identity, it is not entirely his. His identity is now what the brotherhood has made of him, and what society calls him. Thus, the narrator still has to find his identity and will learn this down the road of his journey.
